Purpose of processing personal data / purpose of the register

The purpose of processing personal data is to manage, administer, develop and analyse the customer relationship and to communicate with customers, which may also be carried out electronically. In addition, the processing of personal data is for the purpose of implementing the rights and obligations of the customer and Buildwise Group Oy, as well as the processing of personal data for purposes related to online services and research activities in accordance with the Personal Data Act. In addition, personal data is processed for marketing purposes of the controller, including direct marketing. Direct marketing may also be carried out electronically.

Data content of the register

• We record information that the customer has provided on forms through the buildwise.fi website.
• Customer contact details: first name, surname, telephone number, email address, company name, company website address.
• Additional customer data: classification data provided by individuals themselves (e.g. interests), IP address or other identifier, data collected from social media channels, customer feedback data.
• Other information collected with the customer’s consent.
• Billing information, such as: order information, payment history, account number, email address, web billing address, marketing permissions and prohibitions.
• Possibly one other identifier to be associated with the customer
• Username, password, addresses of online services
• Information related to participation in marketing campaigns (such as sweepstakes, contests) and newsletter subscription.
• Data collected by the site’s analytics and other cookies to help make the site more user-friendly.

Regular data sources for the register

The register is compiled from Buildwise Group Oy’s customer information system. The data source may also be the customer’s own declaration, the customer’s purchase and transaction data, companies and authorities providing services concerning personal data, such as the Finnish Population Register Centre’s update service and the credit information register of Suomen Asiakastieto Oy.

Regular data disclosures

We do not disclose, sell or rent your information to third parties. We may disclose your information to the extent permitted and required by applicable law. The controller will not disclose customers’ personal data to third parties, except where required by law. Data may also be disclosed outside the EU or EEA, for example for the purposes of technical maintenance and processing of data by our subcontractors.

Data may be deleted at the request of the customer or due to the termination of the customer relationship. In addition, data may have to be deleted as a result of monitoring if the customer misuses the service or engages in criminal activities, etc. with the help of the service.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are automatically stored on terminal devices when a visitor visits a website. We collect information from third-party service providers such as Google and Facebook about the use of our website. Our website uses Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Search Console. This software is used to collect anonymous statistics about the users of the website in order to improve the quality of the service. The software records information such as which page you visit, how long you stay on the site, which web service you used to reach the site and which links you clicked on. We use anonymised data for analytics and, with your consent, for marketing purposes.

You can turn off the cookie function when you visit the site through your browser settings, or accept cookies through a notice at the bottom of the page on your first visit. Without essential cookies, the site will not function properly.

Principles for the protection of the register

Personal data is kept confidential. The data network of the web service provider of the controller and the hardware on which the register is located are protected by firewalls and other technical measures. Access to the system containing customer data and the right to modify customer data is restricted to employees whose job entitles them to process customer data. They are bound by confidentiality. Each user has his own user name and password for the system. The data is collected in databases protected by firewalls, passwords and other technical means.

Right of inspection, rectification and prohibition

The customer has the right to check what information about him/her is stored in the register. The request for inspection must be sent in writing, signed and addressed to the controller’s registry administrator. The controller shall respond to requests for inspection of data in writing.

If there are errors in the customer’s data, the customer may submit a request to the controller to correct the error.

The customer has the right to object to the disclosure and processing of his/her data for the purposes of direct marketing, distance selling and other direct marketing.
